As members of the Friendship Community Garden in Washington, D.C. we were growing Koginut squash and our garden neighbors were growing Butternut. Nature created the open cross so boldly presented on our site, which is named after where it was created. If one considers two Koginuts stacked on top of each other and vigorously more than twice the size, that’s the hybrid Friendship squash. The taste may be better than each progenitor and the weight is over six pounds. It will be interesting to see what these seeds produce. There are limited Friendship squash seeds available. Here is a picture of the Koginut created by Row 7 Seeds.
